Coming off their run with Pantera, LAMB OF GOD are returning to the City of Sin this Friday, August 25th, to The Pearl Theater inside The Palms. If you haven’t been keeping up with their adventures, they have been BRINGING IT full force! This time they come with stacked support from THE ACACIA STRAIN and one of my most favorites, SUICIDE SILENCE.

The Acacia Strain

I saw The Acacia Strain a few years back opening up for After the Burial before the Hard Rock rebranded into Virgin Hotels. It was the only time I had ever seen them to my knowledge, but I remember them being highly energetic and intense. The Acacia Strain is one of those bands that really deserves to get more attention than they’ve received through the years. Listed as metalcore, but encompassing all of the elements of deathcore, grind, and death metal, especially on their latest album “Step Into the Light”. But they also draw some pieces of punk, especially with their stage energy. Though it’s been a few years, I’m excited to see these guys rip up the stage once again. I don’t expect them to disappoint this crowd!

Suicide Silence

How many times have I even written about or mentioned Suicide Silence at this point? Too many to count. They’re still one of my favorite bands in the deathcore genre. These guys always have some of the craziest pits, insane crowd interaction, and generally speaking always look happy to be on the stage pushing along on this blazed trail of a journey. Back in March, Suicide Silence released “Remember… You Must Die”, an almost 40 minute album of straight face melting deathcore goodness. This record really highlights just how well Eddie Hermida’s place as the frontman. He’s had some big shoes to fill since Mitch Lucker’s passing, but he is absolutely a driving force in Suicide Silence’s growth.

Anyway, I will never turn down a chance to see Suicide Silence here or anywhere else on the planet. They are always enjoyable, and this night won’t be any different.

Lamb of God

I can’t recall if I’ve spoken about it, but one of my favorite and prominent memories of this face blasting metal powerhouse of a band is from 2009. They did a co-headline tour with Hatebreed and I almost died on the House of Blues floor during the Wall of Death banger, “Black Label.” I’m always bummed that they don’t play that song live anymore, but thankfully their setlists still contain some of their bests such as “Walk With Me In Hell”, “Omerta”, “Vigil” and “Redneck.”

Lamb of God released their ninth studio album “Omens” last year, and the single “State of Unrest” earlier this year which is a collaboration between them and Kreator. With these releases, it’s very clear that there’s absolutely no slowing down or stopping them. Years and years of solid recordings and musicianship, and Randy Blythe is an incredible human and frontman in his own rights. Yet another one of those bands that I won’t ever pass up to see, and neither should you! They fucking bring it… Every. Single. Time. So be there or be square.

See you in the pit, Vegas!
