COLD // ORGY – CANDYASS 25th anniversary show at the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs

Deathpop industrial rock band Orgy is currently on tour along with rock band Cold and two opening acts, I Ya Toyah and Michigan’s own Horizon Theory. The tour made a stop in Colorado Springs The Black Sheep music venue on 4/16/2024.

The show opened up with industrial artist I Ya Toyah from Poland. As a solo performer, she rocked the nearly sold out crowd with a phenomenal, dark rock synth 45 minute set . She brought a sexy yet dark industrial vibe to the venue . During one of her Instagram posts, she had mention since she was a child she has always wanted to perform at the iconic Black Sheep venue . Surrounded by lasers and fog, this performance was very intriguing and hypnotic to watch. You definitely want to catch her shows.

Horizon Theory hit the stage melting the minds of all the metal heads that attended. Bringing to the stage heavy bass guitar, this band definitely gave a very energetic vibe to the scene and got the crowd pumped for what was in store next.

Colorado Springs welcomed COLD to the stage. They rocked the stage for an hour long, set playing all their classic hits and my favorite “Stupid Girl” . The audience sang along to every song as they put on a very intimate set.  They are currently on the bill for 38 shows in North America.

An exciting crowd rushed to the stage to see Orgy’s performance. It was neat to see the band members set up their own equipment, which you hardly ever see these days . As the band got ready to play, lead vocalist Jay Gordon took over the stage giving his iconic dark old school industrial sound. Fans were so excited it was nearly impossible to capture moments being in the audience. The band made a statement that they will no longer play their classic hit “stitches” as that was the final night they would ever play that song. They engaged with their fans by letting them take the microphone to sing along . Towards the end of the show Jay asked fans what song they wanted to hear as he was joking about how thin the Colorado air is. The band finished their set with their hit version of “Blue Monday”. Jay himself jumped off of the stage and got into the crowd, taking selfies and videos with his die hard fans as he was performing “Blue Monday.” I have never witnessed a performer who truly loves and adores their fans . It was a very special night for those who attended. There was even one fan named, Nikita Bonita of Colorado Springs who stated she nearly fainted when Jay touched her. The band rocked the stage for well over an hour. It was one of the best shows I have ever seen.
