On a rainy spring evening in the Las Vegas valley, Movements and company brought the ‘RUCKUS! TOUR’ to House of Blues. An eclectic lineup featuring Paerish, Spiritual Cramp, Tiger’s Jaw and Movements had the crowd popping from the very beginning. With a sold out crowd and the elevated excitement, it was sure to be a night that Vegas would remember for years to come.

PAERISH

Paerish is a dreamy rock band from Paris, France. While they are a good looking group of guys, I say “dreamy” in reference to their sound. The band put out their most recent album ‘You’re in both dreams (and you’re scared)’ in 2023, and in my opinion, the songs hold up just as well, if not better in the live show. Excited to see what else these guys bring to us!

SPIRITUAL CRAMP

These dudes are a classic 90’s punk style rock, and it’s absolutely ELECTRIC to watch live. The best way that I could describe their sound is that they sound like they should be on the soundtrack for the next Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Spiritual Cramp’s latest self-titled album came to us in November of 2023, and I loved the way they were able to capture the same sound and feeling in each song live. Definitely wishing there was a Vegas date on their upcoming world tour, but I will wait patiently to see them again!

TIGERS JAW

A really cool modern indie punk band from Scranton, PA! Melodic acoustic riffs, driving instrumentals, and emotional vocals blend together to create the sound that is Tigers Jaw. Since 2005, they have been making waves with their unique song structures and vocal styles. Their most recent album ‘I Won’t Care How You Remember Me’ came in 2021. They have since released several singles, including a song titled ‘Constant Headache’, which features Joyce Manor. A diverse option for the lineup that switched up the vibe a bit, but Tigers Jaw still kept the energy going with some banging tracks!

MOVEMENTS

Movements set out on tour on March 28th in support of their third full length album, ‘RUCKUS!’ The record was released in August of 2023, and is packed full of punchy songs that have you wanting to jump right into the pit. Kicking it off with ‘Lead Pipe’, the energy was through the roof, and you could at times feel the room SHAKING from the crowd. The guys continued with a diverse setlist, including other hits from the album such as ‘You’re One of Us Now’, ‘Fail You’, and ‘Third Degree’. While this was a tour in support of the album, Movements gave everyone one of the most insane sets with bangers from previous records, including ‘Cherry Thrill’, ‘Full Circle’, and ‘Colorblind’. However, the fun wasn’t over there. Movements pulled out the coup de grâce as they capped off an incredible set with their hit ‘Daylily’.

Going into this show, I was a casual fan of Movements. Leaving this show, I am a super fan of Movements. These guys brought an energy to those songs during their live performance that absolutely blew me away. I was wishing it could keep going forever!

Movements is set to return to Vegas the weekend of October 19th, 2024 at the When We Were Young festival, where they will be playing their album ‘Feel Something’ in its entirety. WE CAN’T WAIT!
