It’s not often you come across a band like Leprous. These guys have such a unique style of musicality and performance. Leprous brought their Melodies of Atonement North American 2024 Tour to Dallas, TX on 9/30/24 at the Granada Theatre with opening acts, Fight The Fight and Earthside. Both of which played insanely killer sets!
I got the chance to talk to one of the members of Fight The Fight and he was just a lovely soul. I particularly enjoyed Earthside’s set with interesting instrumental-only songs. Leprous got their start with 2009 album release “Tall Poppy Syndrome” and has since released and impressive nine more albums with the latest installment “Melodies of Atonement” of which they are currently on tour for.
This was one of the most captivating performances I have seen in quite some time from a band I was not yet familiar with. After this show I can say I am a huge fan and will be following along with the rest of Leprous’ career. Leprous has a way of pulling their audience in with chillingly quiet verses then bringing the house down with epic choruses and bridges. Einar Solberg, lead singer and synthesizer, has a range you don’t often hear these days. The high notes coming from this man were gorgeous and haunting.
Leprous opened their set with bangers “Silently Walking Alone,” the opening track to Melodies Of Atonement, and “The Price” and “Third Law” off 2015 album The Congregation. Around the middle of the fifteen-song set, the rock band performed “Faceless” and brought fans up to join on background vocals. I have never seen that done before; what a treat! And they completely crushed it! The band performed a few more songs from earlier albums and ended on “Atonement” with the outro to “The Sky Is Red.”
For their encore, Leprous took a request from the audience and landed on “Slave,” and brought the house down! I mean, what a killer way to go out.The North American leg of the Melodies of Atonement 2024 Tour may be over, but if you live in Australia, Spain, France, UK, Poland, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, or Brazil, you are in luck because the tour will be continuing near you!
