LIVEDREAM is a live release from Adam Bomb, available in both an audio format and a concert video viewable on YouTube.

There’s no one else in the rock world quite like Adam Bomb. With his blistering guitar playing, raw vocals, and a heavy rock style that runs the gamut from comedic themes to tributes to fallen rockers, the guy has done it all. It’s criminal that he’s not a household name.

Since the mid 1980s and the release of his debut album FATAL ATTRACTION, Mr. Bomb has made a name for himself with a loyal cult following, rubbing shoulders with and collaborating with many of the best in the business. 2024 sees the release of Adam Bomb latest project, LIVEDREAM.

So… what exactly is LIVEDREAM? As the title may dictate, it’s a live release. But Mr. Bomb wasn’t content to just give audiences a live album and call it a day. Instead, he’s created something truly unique – the first live concert experience made specifically for viewing on a mobile phone! Utilizing a vertical aspect ratio that’s taller than it is wide, and featuring a wide array of filters, footage, on-screen lyrics, and filters and effects, the man once known as Adam Brenner is here to take audiences on a wild ride.

Filmed in Germany and produced by Dieter Dierks (best known for producing the Scorpions albums released from 1975-1988), this is Adam Bomb going through all phases of his career, shelling out his hits to enthusiastic audience of German rockers (while American, much of Mr. Bomb’s fame is in Europe, as is often the case with artists of his era). His band features drummer Kid Leo and bassist Kozzy Havokk, and while I certainly wasn’t familiar with these artists prior to viewing this concert, the trio is quite tight and brings the songs to life well.

No one’s ever done a live concert with cell phone viewing in mind, and this gig, done in a taller aspect ratio to accommodate those watching and listening on them, quickly takes on a life of its own. Imagine if lyric videos, music videos, memes, home movies, and travel docs got together, had a massive orgy, and it produced an unholy lovechild. LIVEDREAM is what you’d get. Unabashedly raw and juvenile, I was rocking out from start to finish, but had a smile on my face the entire time. From early Adam Bomb cuts like “SST” and “I Want My Heavy Metal” to more recent fare like a parody of AC/DC’s “TNT” about getting high, I can’t remember the last time a live recorded concert has made me so enthusiastic. As if the tight band and the sweet sounds and footage weren’t already enough, there’s even special guest appearances from legendary boxing announcer Michael “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble” Buffer, bookending the concert. No joke. I love the “do it yourself” nature of this project; it’s proof that a creative mind and a can-do attitude can suffice when you don’t have millions of dollars to produce a fancy home video release of a concert.

At 75 minutes, LIVEDREAM is fairly short compared to some recorded concerts out there, but it’s all killer with no filler. There are admittedly a few Adam Bomb classics missing here I would love to have heard; “Shape of the World,” “Russian Roulette,” and “Johnny in the Sky” come to mind, but if you’re a fan of the guy or classic, raw, juvenile hard rock in general, Adam Bomb is still delivering the goods.

You owe it to yourself to set aside 75 minutes of your life to visit YouTube and stream this concert. It’s epic. It’s hilarious. It rocks hard. And it’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time. Fans of Adam Bomb will be glad to know the guy is still active and rocking out, doing what he does best. A rather unique viewing experience made with vertical cell phone watching and listening in mind, LIVEDREAM comes highly recommended!
