The Shapeshifter Tour – South Side Ballroom Dallas, TX 4/17/25
Memphis May Fire played South Side Ballroom with elijah and WindWalkers on their second stop of The Shapeshifter Tour this Thursday and it was insane. All three bands came with the most infectious energy. The reason is unclear, but Caskets did not play this show.
The show started with elijah and his band. I made it to the venue about halfway through his set (thanks a lot, work). He was so energetic and adamant about making sure everyone in the crowd was moving. He started putting out singles in 2022, dropped four EP’s in 2023 and another in 2024. Check out his last two singles “SKIN,” “UNDERRATED” and “HUMAN (feat. Matty Mullins)”. Keep elijah on your radar–you will not be disappointed.
Wind Walkers were up next with a fire half-hour set. Only good things can be said about this performance. The vocal abilities of Trevor Borge are wildly impressive, and the drive of the entire band is not going unnoticed. Special shoutout to their guitarist, Tim Comeau, because I have never seen a musician spin that many times lol. What can you expect from Wind Walkers? Superb lyrics, explosive drops and creative melodies. Listen to Wind Walkers’ 2023 album What If I Break? as well as their latest 2025 single “The End Aesthetic.”

From Sleepwalking in 2009 to Shapeshifting in 2025, Memphis May Fire have been consistently putting out music that somehow has suction powers as it literally drags me by the ears and plasters them onto the loudest speaker it can find. “Which one of your personalities gets to sleep at night?” might actually be my new favorite line of any Memphis track. Their 2025 album Shapeshifter is their best work to date–the drops are getting more creative, Matty Mullins vocals somehow get better and better, and the production goes crazy.
Shoutout to the sound and light crew for the excellent sound mixing and lighting production at this show–shit was excellent! I don’t want to give too much away as this was only the second stop on tour for my boys but if you want to hear “Necessary Evil” live (you do, trust me) or your favorite throwbacks, be sure to grab that ticket now because Memphis pulled out a few fan favorites that had the circle pits going stupid.
Catch Memphis May Fire with Caskets, Wind Walkers and elijah from now through May 18th, Memphis at Road to Warped and Warped Tour in June, then an Australian run with Atreyu for the 20th Anniversary of The Curse tour: MMF TOUR DATES AND TICKETS
