Over the course of the past few months there has been a pretty important announcement that myself, the ZRockR team, and thousands of metalheads all over the world have been patiently waiting on: The Hells Heroes VII initial lineup announcement. Well, ladies and gentlemen, the first round of lineup reveals is here and the selection is pretty good this year. Let’s get into it.
Starting us off with our lineup is the traditional heavy metal group, U.D.O. Dirkschneider playing their album, “Balls to the Wall” in its entirety in honor of the album’s fortieth anniversary. Old school thrashers, Sanctuary, will be playing songs from the album “Refuge Denied”. German-based boozy thrash legends, Tankard, will be there playing plenty of songs about beer and violence. Then Voivod will be performing a special set of only their classic 80s music. We’ve also go Virgin Steele on the lineup, back in the USA – a rare occurrence for the band. 3 Inches of Blood will be hitting the stage, as well as Chris Holmes performing some W.A.S.P. songs, Bulldozer, Grand Magus, the return of fan-favorite band, White Wizzard,
Hellbutcher, Power From Hell, Bütcher, Bat, Vulture, Phantom and Interceptor! What a lineup so far!
It’s clear to see that this will probably be a super thrash and classic heavy metal kind of festival this year, so if that’s what you’re into, then go ahead and grab yourself a ticket or two. Hells Heroes VIII is the premier metal music festival of Texas, and is hosted every March at White Oak Music Hall in Houston. This past year I was lucky enough to be allowed to attend and document the experience, and now I’m ecstatic to see the show next March! Hells Heroes VII had nearly sixty bands on the lineup including pre-show, after parties, a massive outdoor stage, and the more intimate inside area, so don’t fear if you don’t like any of the bands on the lineup so far, for there are many more bands to come – and when that full lineup drops, you can bet that ZRockR will be the first place you come to for the run down on each and every single band.
