Celebrating 40 Years: Dream Theater Delivers a Legendary Long Beach Show

October 4, 2025 – Last Sunday night was something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. Dream Theater played at the Terrace Theater in Long Beach to celebrate their 40th, and I was lucky enough to be there. The show started right at 8, after doors opened around 7, and the place was packed with fans — including me.

The best part? They played Parasomnia from start to finish. Seeing that album live was a huge goal of mine, especially since I’ve been into concert photography for years. It felt pretty surreal to finally be there, capturing the moment.

James LaBrie sounded amazing—so powerful and full of emotion—while John Petrucci shredded through some insane guitar solos. The rest of the band was super tight, and the whole night just had this incredible energy. The lighting and visuals added a really cool vibe, making it feel even more special.

What made it even more memorable was that they shared some stories about their 40 years together, which made the night feel like a real celebration of their journey. For me, personally, this was a huge milestone — finally seeing the band live and being able to capture those moments through my camera after chasing this dream for years.

Overall, it was an unforgettable night. Just a perfect mix of old favorites and good vibes. I left feeling pretty grateful — like I’d checked off something I’d been wanting to do for a long.
