December 15, 2025 – Foxy Shazam – Brooklyn Bowl, Las Vegas –

Foxy Shazam has to be one of the most interesting assignments to hit my list. They’re a name I’ve been mildly familiar with, but outside of seeing some flyers through the years that was the extent of my knowledge. Boy, I was missing out on the live show, though!

Foxy Shazam reminds me of a ska/pop/rock adaptation of Queen. The dramatics and big voice and sounds give off a really elevating performance. This energy builds and builds through the set, and can be clearly seen as the vocalist does somersaults across the stage, the enthusiastic trumpet player dancing back and forth, and the keyboard player who seemed to spontaneously grab his kit and put it in the hands of the crowd as he played. (This was REALLY impressive, I know those things are NOT light usually, so the ease at which this was done was absolutely fantastic.)

I also noticed that the trumpet player and the bass player seemed to lose clothing as the set progressed. I know it gets hot up there on stage, but it’s pretty chilly here in Vegas right now and Brooklyn Bowl is usually a bit on the cooler side of the temperature spectrum.

The set featured a good mix of songs throughout their catalogue, opening with Yes! Yes! Yes! off the 2008 record, Introducing. This had to be a bit of a treat for the longtime fans in the crowd. More often than not artists will head into their sets with a recent single, but this track is a literal dancing song, so a perfect way to get people moving around and excited! The crowd was pretty warmed up early on, so when they did get to Magic off of this year’s record, Box of Magic, we were in full swing. The energy stayed high and exciting through the entirety of the set. So much so that when we got to the final song, the whole band seemed to be a ball of frenzy energy on stage! Blissful faces could be seen all around.

While this was a little out of my general interest zone, I did not leave unimpressed. Foxy Shazam has a good size catalogue and following, some really fun records, and a really entertaining energy that radiates from them all on stage. This was the first time for me, but I don’t see it being the last!
