River Ratts are another stellar band playing the Punk Rock Museum anniversary concert on April 4th! The band hails from Riverside, CA, and although I’m not familiar with them, the mention influences like AFI, The Germs, and Morrissey; so I’m sold! Plus, they are fans of locals Muertos Heist, who I adore as humans and a band! We are in for a treat with these guys!
Check out the interview with the band below!
What was the first punk song or band you heard that made you feel like this was the music you wanted to pursue?
Bloodfeast by the Misfits. It was the first song I ever heard by the Misfits and listening to it made me feel like I do when I watch a horror movie.
What song do you wish you’d written?
Ordinary Fight by I Against I.
Are there any Vegas bands that have caught your ear?
Muertos Heist! Las Vegas ska-core!
What is your favorite artifact in the museum?
AFI’s blacked out guitar from the Sing the Sorrow era, and The Locust costume on mannequin display.
If you had to donate a piece of your collection, what do you think the museum needs?
Pictures taken with a disposable camera of the Murderdolls when they performed at the Showcase Theatre in Corona, CA 01/07/2004. Jerry Only came out and they performed “Devil’s Whorehouse” by the Misfits together. This ended up being the last performance of their first era.
What’s next up your sleeve after this celebration?
Getting back in the studio to record our next album and continuing to work with Landon and Covert Booking.
