In what has been an insane week of shows in Las Vegas, Chevelle took the stage for one of the Sick New World sideshows at House of Blues in front of a sold-out crowd. Upon arrival at the venue, two hours prior to doors opening, the line was already stretching halfway through Mandalay Bay, full of excited fans discussing their anticipation for the performance from this legendary band.
AMIRA ELFEKY
Wow.
I think that is the only word to sum up the opening performance. Amira Elfeky absolutely brought the place down with an INSANE blend of heavy, nu-metal style instrumentals & angelic, grungy vocals. The Los Angeles artist is currently promoting her debut EP ‘Skin to Skin’, which released in March of 2024. Keep this artist on your radar, as she is destined for big things in the near future.
CHEVELLE
The anticipation for Chevelle was unreal. It was nearly impossible to walk throughout the venue due to everyone waiting shoulder to shoulder in excitement. Once the band took the stage, however, the pits opened up and the entire crowd was moving.
Chevelle had an extremely diverse setlist, and took the stage to a massive roar from the crowd, as they opened with their instrumental piece ‘Verruckt’, a song from their most recent 2021 album ‘NIRATIAS’. From the start, you could feel the vibrations in floor from the crowd moving and jumping, and it continued the throughout the whole set. Much to the pleasure of the audience, the guys of course played classics such as ‘Send The Pain Below’, ‘The Red’, ‘I Get It’, and so many more! Chevelle kept everyone hyped the entire time with a WILD stage presence, and unbelievable lighting design. Not only was the atmosphere amazing, but sound-wise the band was extremely tight and punchy. An extremely talented group that Vegas is always excited to have!
Chevelle is currently gearing up for a tour with Tigercub and has already played a few dates here on the west coast prior to this sideshow. They have been teasing a new album via social media, so keep your eyes out for new music!
