Tight, three-part harmonies and lyrics that will make you sob for days: what a Tight, three-part harmonies and lyrics that will make you sob for days: what a Tiny Habits set is like. I haven’t had many full-circle moments in life yet but, this is one of them! My very first gig as a live music photographer was for Tiny Habits’ headlining show in Dallas at the House of Blues last year. Getting to see them perform again and
getting to photograph them was so very special to me.

Tiny Habits opened for James Taylor here in Fort Worth, Texas at Dickies Arena on Wednesday September 17 th and I am still crying about it. This show marked the end of an incredible 42 show run with JT and wow did it end on an emotional note!

The Habits performed a beautiful thirty-minute set to a super kind audience. The trio, comprised of Cinya Khan, Judah Mayowa and Maya Rae – all Berklee College
alums, opened the set with “Flicker” from their 2024 debut album, All For Something. I am normally a bigger fan of the sad ballads, however, my favorite song performed that night has to be their 2025 single “Either,” a fun, upbeat track about honestly not wanting to go to a party and hoping “you don’t wanna go either.” The band joked about that song being their only non-sad song of the evening.

They performed two more songs from All For Something, Malleable and Wishes, then closed out their set with a beautiful cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” and ended on one of my personal favorite songs, “tiny things,” from their 2023 ep of the same title. Before that last song, Maya mentioned it being the last run of the tour with James and had already started to cry. By the end of the song, all three members were
in tears and unable to fully finish singing the song. The three met in the center of the stage for a hug and a quick bow before exiting.

I cannot wait for these three lovely humans to get back on tour here in the United States, but for now it is Canada’s turn! Catch Tiny Habits opening for Sarah McLachlan this fall on her Fumbling Towards Ecstasy 30 th Anniversary Tour from October 15 th through November 9 th .
