Teenage Wasteland Invades Tuscany’s Copa Room With a Set of Who Classics!

Teenage Wasteland played the Copa Room at the Tuscany Hotel and Casino on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

The Who’s music is truly timeless. The British rock legends have put out everything from hit singles to concept albums, with many of their tracks remaining staples of classic rock radio all these years later. It’s no surprise that many musicians want to pay tribute to these English rock wonders, and in Las Vegas, we have Teenage Wasteland, formerly known as The Who Invasion. The band unites singer Keith Steven Caplan, bassist John Stenber, drummer Christopher Guida, and guitarist Stephen Burchell.

Following the closure of Count’s Vamp’d last June, many venues around Las Vegas have been picking up rock shows from bands that used to play that stage that Sin City is still reeling from the loss of. The Copa Room at the Tuscany Hotel and Casino (not to be confused with the similarly named Copa Room at the Bootlegger restaurant, which is also booking rock shows now) is a fantastic room used for many performances in a good off-strip location that thankfully doesn’t charge for parking. Aside from the too-late start times (this will always be an issue if a venue has to share multiple performing acts in a single night), it’s a fantastic room, even if it’ll never quite be a replacement for what Vamp’d was.

The Who have an extensive history, and I’m pleased to say that Teenage Wasteland leaves no stone unturned when it comes to keeping this music alive. Their setlists are quite diverse, covering tracks from the band’s early genesis in the British invasion (“My Generation,” “I Can’t Explain,” “I Can See for Miles,”) tunes from their legendary concept albums TOMMY and QUADROPHENIA (“Pinball Wizard,” “I’m Free,” “Love Reign O’er Me,”) cuts from classic 1971 effort WHO’S NEXT (“Behind Blue Eyes,” “Baba O’Riley,” “Won’t Get Fooled Again,”) and even a handful of cuts from the Kenney Jones era (“You Better You Bet,” “Eminence Front.”) The group balances deep album cuts and singles with the hits excellently, creating a setlist that’ll appeal to more casual fans but also the most die-hard Who maniacs. I also appreciate that the band chose to play one long set instead of splitting the show in half with two sets like many artists who play the Tuscany’s Copa Room do; this helped to guarantee the show ended by midnight while still packing the evening with music.

The band members themselves are more than up for the tasks, paying tribute to one of England’s finest bands in the best form imaginable. The true standout player in the band is vocalist Keith Steven Caplan, who absolutely nails Roger Daltrey’s signature vocal style. This is no easy task, and he sings every track spot-on. He’s also willing to pick up a guitar for songs that require them as well. Guitarist Stephen Burchell is just the axeman the band needed, having gone through a handful of guitar players in the best; this guy is more than worthy of the gig and does justice to Pete Townshend’s playing. The rhythm section of Jon Stenber on bass (who also plays bass with Vegas guitarist Jason Walker) and Christopher Guida keeps down the low end in fine form. Guida had a hand injury and was limited to a single bass drum for this performance, but if you didn’t know better, you’d have no idea. This guy is a master of his craft, and no injury can keep him down. It would be great if the guys could eventually add a fifth member to the group to handle some of the unconventional instrumentation like keyboard parts and acoustic guitar (something the intro to “Pinball Wizard” would benefit from), but this quartet is doing a bang-up job paying tribute to some of my favorite music of all time.

Tribute and cover bands in Vegas are a dime a dozen, but Teenage Wasteland is something truly special. I’ve been seeing these guys since back when they were still The Who Invasion, and they’ve channeled their passion and skills into a phenomenal tribute worthy of the British rock legends who created these songs back in the day. Who fans won’t want to pass up Teenage Wasteland’s stage show, sounds, and on-stage banter. Don’t get fooled again. See these songs the way they were meant to be experienced, as only these guys can do.
