Album Review – The Minges: Ono, Oh Yeah!

The sophomore EP release from The Minges gives you what you’ve come to expect from them: crusty trailer park punk sounds for a millennial/Gen X crowd that’s raw, gritty, and funny.

Whether it’s Vegas or any other “small town”, we all know what it’s like to grow up on the wrong side of town (or maybe just ending up there at the end of a wild night). Little Girls has a different kind of vibe altogether. It reminds me of something that surely would accompany an awesome Jewel or Fiona Apple music video back when MTV still rocked.

Messy Jessie has a knack for bringing a comedic touch to everything, making even subjects as serious as addiction funny. Get the album at their next live show. It’s worth adding to your collection.

She wrote for a small zine in her early 20s, interviewing and photographing bands like Goldfinger and Reel Big Fish, and recently had the opportunity to shoot her all-time favorite band, MxPx. Now, in her 40s, she loves the local punk scene and is always on the hunt for a good show. She enjoys listening to audiobooks, cooking, and constantly changing her hair because life is too short for boring hair!
