The Devil Wears Prada return to Sin City on day 5 of their Flowers tour, the devil returning to sin city? It’s kind of fitting isn’t it?

I PROMISED THE WORLD

Dallas emo band I Promised The World, formerly known as Sinema, also make a striking return to Las Vegas but this time as a supporting act on the Flowers tour. This band is on the rise, and on the Rise
Records label – bringing back that nostalgic early 2000s metalcore sound, taking strong influences from bands like Armor For Sleep, Misery Signals and Saosin. Can I just tell you that lead vocalist Hunter
Wilson can jump? There is an unfathomable amount of energy that he just carries and it is just phenomenal, combine these jumps with melodic riffs and breakdowns and do we have a solid act opening the show.

SPLIT CHAIN

The fact that we got this band playing in Las Vegas twice now in less than 6 months is nothing short of a miracle. Split Chain from Bristol, England delivers a strong combination of grunge, shoegaze and nu-metal. If you enjoy bands like Narrowhead, Superheaven, Deftones, Title Fight and Bleed – this is the band for you. To be picked up by The Devil Wears Prada is huge for this band and a massive momentum gainer. From the beginning to the end of their set they just deliver a fun and shoegaze-dreamy vibe to the show, and honestly – its beautiful. This band towards the end of their set calls for a wall of death, not something you’d expect from a band like this but, it works. An excellent supporting act to compliment the bill.

FOUR YEAR STRONG

Remember how I kinda touched on nostalgia with I Promised the World? Four Year Strong is just one of those bands that bring out that pop punk fun. Being around since 2001, they have released 8 records over the years and they feel like that old friend that you’d get a text or call from, and it’s pure joy. I had a feeling when a particular opening riff and the two-step like drum beat came crashing in, I knew it was “Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die”. How could they not play this song? Four Year Strong most definitely fits the tour’s bill complimenting The Devil Wears Prada’s new album Flowers as they’ve reached a more pop sound, we hope to see them play here again soon as a headliner with pop-punk bands supporting the band as that is something we do not get often here in Sin City.

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA

This band LOVES to come here on their headlining tours, year after year they at least play one show here in Las Vegas and it is an absolute treat, do we truly deserve a constantly evolving metalcore act like them? The Devil Wears Prada are back yet again in celebration of their new record Flowers. They open the set with “Where The Flowers Never Grow” and it is just a pure jovial sound with the keys and synths complimenting the leads and clean vocals. Through out the set they bring back the older bangers like “Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over”, “Outnumbered”, “Danger:Wildman” and “Dez Moines”. It’s so interesting to hear and witness the evolution of this band, especially with lead vocalist Mike Hranica never losing his touch, and clean vocalist Jeremy DePoyster still maintaining that angelic voice.

As a headlining act, they provide the most songs and well – I wasn’t expecting 20 songs. The Devil Wears Prada ending their set with “Hey John, What’s Your Name Again?” has everyone swinging in the mosh
pit. Their merch has some real sweet goodies, a tee with their first record’s album artwork on it and a shirt with “cartoon monster” artwork slapped on it, calling back to their “Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over”
song with the lyrics “chainsaw brutality, tornado strength” on the back. It’s fair to say that The Devil Wears Prada have definitely come a long, yet deserving way. This band will make their round here again, very very soon.
