Architects back in Las Vegas with supporting act Holywatr

April 30, 2026 – HOLYWATR – Los Angeles based metal act return to Las Vegas only after 4 months since they played at Brooklyn Bowl with Chiodos and Big Ass Truck. Holywatr is such an interesting specific type of post-hardcore because of how gritty their sound is and blending in multiple genres like djent and progressive metal. They also carry a spiritual vibe from their merch designs to album artworks to lead vocalist Patrick’s voice and movie samples (the track Pure Leaf from their latest record Deo Gratias to name one).

Photographing the band as they were performing was really throwing me off because I seriously couldn’t think of any band that sounds just like them and as they continued to perform I began to understand why Architects took them on a short tour run.

It was mentioned briefly above but the band has also released a new record this year on April 17, titled Deo Gratias. There are a lot of great crushing breakdowns and progressive metal chug-like moments, and honestly right up your alley if you’re a fan of Periphery and Moodring.

ARCHITECTS – We welcome back Architects to Sin City, unfortunately not with We Came as Romans and Brutus like in 2024 but with Los Angeles based supporting act Holywatr.

I absolutely adored how they opened the show with Elegy, in the beginning of the song with vocalist Sam Carter’s haunting vocals all lights were cut except for one pointed right down on the man, delivering line after line. I will continue to say this and I will die on this hill but witnessing Sam go from his clean singing to his scream vocals like he’s doing it with zero effort will always blow my mind, the transition is smooth and this is only achieved from doing it for so long.

The sixteen song setlist delivers songs from across their discography, including fan favorites and classics such as Animals, Gravedigger and Doomsday. They did not play Gone With The Wind which was a surprise to me because they usually do in conjunction with Doomsday, but that’s okay we will give them a pass because we love them.

At one point during their performance, vocalist Sam Carter mentions their first time at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, this was 15 years ago on October 4 with Bring Me The Horizon and Parkway Drive, imagine getting that kind of show in this day and age where all three acts are bigger than ever.

Architects close their set out with Animals, absolute perfection, a phenomenal closer. We hope to see the UK based metalcore act back in Vegas soon and this show had people pouring in left and right even after the doors open.
