June 19, 2026 – Music fans gathered at The Black Sheep in Colorado Springs for an intimate evening of live performances featuring Gangstead, Oracle, and headliners Velvet Daydream. With roughly 100 attendees filling the venue, the show delivered a memorable mix of classic rock influences, heartfelt moments, and high-energy performances.
Opening the night was Gangstead, a four-piece band that quickly captured the audience’s attention. Fronted by a lead vocalist sporting a sequined jacket, the group brought a vibrant stage presence and a sense of fun to the evening. One of the highlights of their set was a spirited cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxy Lady,” which energized the crowd and showcased the band’s appreciation for classic rock influences.
The second act, Oracle, expanded the night’s musical landscape with a seven-member lineup featuring a diverse range of instruments. Their sound was enhanced by bongos, saxophone, and dynamic vocal arrangements that kept the audience engaged throughout their set. Several songs explored themes of addiction and personal struggle, adding emotional depth to the performance. The band’s versatility was on full display when their drummer stepped forward to handle lead vocals while also playing guitar. During the final song, the band’s engineer joined the group on guitar, creating a unique moment that highlighted the collaborative spirit of the evening.
Headlining the show was Velvet Daydream, a four-piece group whose performance embodied the excitement and energy of classic rock. From the moment they took the stage, the band seemed genuinely thrilled to be performing, and that enthusiasm spread throughout the crowd. Their energetic movements and constant interaction with the audience made them challenging to photograph at times, but the effort was well worth it. Every member of the band appeared fully invested in the performance, delivering each song with intensity and passion.
One of the most touching moments of the night came when the lead vocalist acknowledged his parents in attendance. With Father’s Day weekend approaching, the heartfelt shoutout added a personal touch to an already memorable event and drew a warm response from the crowd.
By the end of the evening, The Black Sheep had hosted a showcase of talented musicians who each brought their own personality to the stage. From Gangstead’s classic rock tribute, to Oracle’s thoughtful songwriting, to Velvet Daydream’s electrifying performance, the night served as a reminder of the power of live music and the connection it creates between artists and audiences.
