DOOM & GLOOM – Monolord at Bizarre Bar

June 25, 2026 – Smack dab in the middle of their US West Coast tour, the doom metal gods brought MONOLORD all the way from Gothenburg, Sweden, to Las Vegas in support of their most recent release via Relapse Records, “Neverending”. Along for the ride came Mizmor, from Portland, Oregon, and Las Vegas’ very own, Plague Doctor.

Plague Doctor opened up the evening with their special fuzzy doom sound, one that is not as prevalent in most corners of the metal scene here. Don’t let that deter you from checking these guys out, though… singer/guitarist Zach Cottam has been around the scene for a long time and he is insanely talented! Definitely don’t sleep on what he and Plague Doctor have in store.

Up next, adding to the atmospheric dramatics, Mizmor. Mizmor has much more of a black metal edge to their doom, which really amplifies the overall vibe for the listener and for the viewer. Mizmor’s most recent record,a collaboration with Hell – “Alluvion”, was released in April of 2025 via Gilead Media and is a relentless display of highs and lows, and really hits something special in the soul. This vibe definitely transfers over to the live realm, and it’s definitely worth checking out if this brand of blackened doom goodness is up your alley.

Monolord’s setlist consisted of a mixture of tracks scattered throughout their catalogue, but they started and ended their setlist with tracks from their most recent release.
