It’s that time of year again! The second annual When We Were Young festival is making it’s way back to Vegas and if you can’t hit the main festival, we’ve got your scoop on some sideshows around the city so you can get your fix on some of these nostalgia inducing bands and sounds!

October 19th-

Kicking off the sideshows this year we have Fit for a King at House of Blues with opening support from The Devil Wears Prada, Counterparts, and Landmvrks. This night gives us a little bit more of a metalcore vibe to start off the weekend, but if you were involved in the scene in the early 2000’s you likely remember the come ups of The Devil Wears Prada and Fit for a King. Perfect additions to these kinds of line ups. Counterparts got their start up north in Canada, but still fall into the same timeline as FFAK and TDWP, and they’re another band worth checking out. Landmvrks are the only band I haven’t heard on this lineup, having pushed onto the scene a little less than a decade ago.  TICKETS & INFO

October 20th-

This day is almost overwhelming with just how much is going on. Some of our favorite venues around the city will be crawling with fans of this music!

At the House of Blues you’ve got Something Corporate, in my opinion, this is a MUST see whether at this show or at the main festival. We haven’t seen Andrew do anything SoCo related in a very long time and it’s going to be exciting! TICKETS & INFO

The Pearl inside The Palms will be the place to be if you’re into the likes of All Time Low and crossover pop/rock Gym Class Heroes. This stage will be perfect for them! It’s not too big and not too small but it’s got the overall venue acoustics to really give life to their respective sounds. TICKETS & INFO

Brooklyn Bowl inside the Linq Promenade will be hosting one of Sum 41’s final performances, as they recently announced that they were throwing in the towel. (Stay tuned for another special article highlighting their remarkable career.)

Opening up for this legendary pop punk band we’ve got the ever so fun, Bowling for Soup, and Plain White T’s. Yet another show I would suggest trying not to miss if you can help it! This lineup of bands are truly so much fun live, and you won’t regret it if this is your show of choice! TICKETS & INFO

October 21 & 22-

For the finale of sideshows you can catch Emo Nights at Brooklyn Bowl! These shows are notoriously fun and almost always have last minute special guests helping host and perform. If you enjoy the night club ish kind of vibe these nights are for you! Swap out the mainstream pop and radio hip hop and R&B with all your favorite emo, post hardcore, pop punk music and you’re in for a night of endless fun!

Let us know where you’ll be on these days! It’s going to be a weekend to remember for sure!
