Though he’ll forever be known as the classic lead vocalist for Skid Row, appearing on that group’s first three albums as an iconic frontman, Sebastian Bach has continued to forge a career for himself as a solo artist, still making original music. Nearly three decades after parting ways with his Skid Row bandmates, Bas is still going strong, and a new track from the frontman has arrived.

“What Do I Got To Lose?” is the latest solo song from Sebastian Bach, teaming Bas up with a solid lineup of musicians that includes fellow Canadian turned Las Vegan, Todd Kerns, on bass. In recent years, Mr. Bach has become a regular fixture here in the Vegas Valley’s music scene, whether rocking the stage or simply hanging out and enjoying some good music. As a longtime fan, this rocker was ecstatic to hear he had a new song on deck.

It seems like many old 80s rockers are content to simply live their lives as nostalgia acts, never making any new music and simply living off of their old hits. Several of them stay too late at the party, dwindling on stage and losing their remaining credibility. But I’m happy to say Sebastian Bach, while he had his share of hits back in they day, doesn’t fall under either of these categories. “What Do I Got To Lose?” is a kick-ass song, feeling like that beautiful fusion of the classic Skid Row hard rock sound and something more modern infused. This song rocks hard and is entertaining as hell, and the accompanying music video is equal parts hard rocking and hilarious.

If any aging rockers are curious as to what they should be doing and how to do it, let this new track from Sebastian Bach stand as a shining light. Bas is back, and the results do not fail to please. It’s a last-minute arrival for 2023, but easily one of the best hard rock tracks of the year. Head over to YouTube and give it a listen. If you want to rock, you won’t be disappointed.
