Shamrock Rebellion Makes its Vegas Debut for St. Patrick’s Day!

St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Las Vegas is already a party. Add in a one day festival, and it’s the best party of the year!

That’s right, this year we get Shamrock Rebellion, a day filled with great bands, beer, and food.

When the festival was announced, obviously I was excited for Flogging Molly, who always puts on an amazing show, and always celebrates the weekend here in Vegas. We caught them last year, and it was one of the most high energy shows I’ve had the pleasure of seeing in a long time. The floor literally shook due to the amount of people, and I am sure they’ll get the synthetic grass of DTLVEC to vibrate as well during their headlining set!

However, my eyes immediately went to the Buzzcocks; the band that rooted my love for punk rock music even deeper. I’m very curious as to how they will sound without the legendary Pete Shelley, who we lost in 2018, but I am positive it will still be incredible.

Also announced on the bill is folk-punk Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls, So-Cal’s Face to Face, Amigo the Devil (which if you aren’t familiar, educate your damned self), Canada’s NOBRO (which give me Bikini Kill vibes), Gen & the Degenerates (who are a dancy kind of punk, kind of like Blondie), and more.

Granted, Orange County will get round 1 on March 16th, but we will see you at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, beers in hand!

Originally from Illinois, Stephy is the daughter of an aspiring metal guitarist and a former rock n roll radio dj. Stephy’s first concert at the tender age of 8 was Rob Zombie at the original Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas, where she happily threw horns up and sang along to "Dragula" with the best of them ( she incidentally loves horror films too!) . She performed with the VGA choir at the 2007 Video Game Awards show at Mandalay Bay when it was hosted by Samuel L Jackson, sharing the stage with the likes of Foo Fighters as well as Kid Rock. An LVA alum, when she isn’t singing or playing herself (she plays a few different instruments), she is out in support of the local scene and at her friends gigs around the southwest and even when she is back home in Illinois! She has written as well as done some photography previously for a couple of smaller zines including Vegas SoundZ when it was in print. Stephy takes the adage of ” If it’s too loud that is just too damn bad! ” to heart- after all- she was raised around screaming guitars, thunderous drums, production studios and only Led Zeppelin and Nirvana played extremely loud would put her to sleep as a kid! Stephy is a large part of the backbone of ZRockR.
