On 10/11/2024 one of the most intense in the metalcore genre will be crashing their way back into Las Vegas. JINJER has to be one of the most underrated bands in the game right now, and I’m not quite sure why. They radiate high energy, and they’ve definitely got the history and ever growing fanbase to prove it.
JINJER formed in 2008 in the Ukraine and have been relentlessly grinding ever since, with an exception of toning it down temporarily in 2022 to focus on relief efforts in their home country.
Fast forward back to 2024, and they’ve got an anticipated fifth album awaiting release, and their single, “Rogue” hit the airwaves just a few weeks ago. This track goes from 0 to 100 in about half a second. Vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk is brutally intense and dynamic, and she and her bandmates are breaking molds time after time within this genre that can sometimes become boring and stale. JINJER are one of the bands that are striving to keep the energy and innovation in the genre, and it’s noticable with each release.
There’s no current release date for the next album, but I’m guessing we’ll see at least one or two more singles before we get the whole album. In the mean time, it’s been said already that the band will be performing new tracks on this tour, so that’ll definitely scratch the itch until the album is released!
JINJER have been through many tour cycles, and for this fall’s cycle they’re bringing along HANABIE and BORN OF OSIRIS. I’m admittedly unfamiliar with Hanabie, but they seem to be up a similar alley as Babymetal. They showcase anime-like melodies with pieces of guttural metalcore-ish screaming. While not my favorite type of music, I’m not against checking it out live. I am pleasantly surprised from time to time. Now, Born of Osiris… That’s a different story. I’ve had them on my rotation for years, and I’m always eager and excited when I see them play shows here in Vegas.
Overall this seems like a pretty diverse lineup, and it’s sure to be a fun and interesting night for those fans of the metalcore genre!
