May 2, 2026 – Boys Like Girls headlined Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas, with special guests Arrows In Action and I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME. A glorious evening of pop punk nostalgia, it was! A front to back performance of the “Love Drunk” and self titled records definitely make the tour name, The Soundtrack of Your Life, named appropriately and accurately!
While Boys Like Girls haven’t necessarily been a big name in the music headlines in recent times, their journey to the present is nothing less than spectacular. Especially considering many bands from the 2005-06 era are no longer really a thing. Boys Like Girls got their start in Massachusetts in 2005. The band had many successful worldwide tours, and achieved mainstream success with their self-titled debut album in 2006.
Inactivity from the band in the 2010’s led people to believe that maybe they had disbanded, but no real confirmations were ever made from the members. Life and shit happens, you know? But momentum started picking up again not too long before COVID hit, and after the world returned to some sort of normalcy within this industry, Boys Like Girls started touring in support of new material. They hit the first When We Were Young festival here in Vegas in 2022, and Sunday at Foxwoods was released in the fall of 2023, which sparked a number of new touring cycles to follow.
While their overall sound is comparable to some of those up beat radio hits from the 90’s, I’d still largely recommend them to people who are a fan of bands in the post hardcore/pop punk genres. If you like The Starting Line, The Academy Is…, New Found Glory, or Dashboard Confessional, Boys Like Girls should fit nicely on your playlist if they’re not there already.
