Iron Savior fans are getting another preview of the band’s forthcoming album, Deathbringer.
The band announced Wednesday through a news release, it had premiered its new single, ‘Light in the Dark.’ The song is the album’s third single behind ‘The Creature’s Tale‘ and the album’s lead single, ‘Back From The Fires of Hell.’ All three songs are featured in the band’s forthcoming album, which is scheduled for release Nov. 13 via Frontiers Music s.r.l.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Light in the Dark’ is full on power metal. Unlike the record’s first two singles, which clearly throw back to the sounds and styles from the likes of Saxon and Judas Priest, this song is more along the lines of work from the likes of Dragonforce, Man O War, and others of that ilk. It is an interesting change of pace that adds to the excitement for the album’s release.
In regard to the song’s lyrical theme, front man Piet Sielck stated, “The third single ‘Light In The Dark,’ is part of the epic Iron Savior story line, which started 30 years ago when I wrote the lyrics for the self-titled debut album. It’s a story about hope and desperation, bravery and determination, life and death, darkness and light… Just like sometimes in real life. With the chorus section as the heart of the song, this speed attack will make you see the light in the dark before your imaginary eyes…”
The Deathbringer track listing is noted below:
1. Shadows Of Neverness
2. Deathbringer
3. Light In The Dark
4. The Creature’s Tale
5. Back From The Fires Of Hell
6. To Boldly Go
