December 6, 2025 – After a grueling, extended North American tour that took metalcore act, Fit For a King, all over the United States and Canada, the band played their penultimate show in San Antonio, Texas. Bringing supporting acts 156/Silence, Spite, and Currents along with them, Fit For a King the band – on the Lonely God Tour, named after their most recent album release – completely sold out the Vibes Event Center, packing about one thousand sweating, moshing, diehard fans under a heavy metal roof with even heavier metal riffs.
Opening act, 156/Silence, played a cunning set full of impressive, razor-sharp riffs. Playing a setlist mostly constructed of songs off of their 2024 album, People Watching, 156/Silence performed a unique blend of heavy music, mixing beatdown songs with segments of melodic-harcore inspired choruses and clean-singing lines. For those paying attention, there’s even a healthy amount of post-hardcore leaning songs. All in all, 156/Silence is a diverse band that is built on crowd favorite sounds that are bound to please.
Speaking of “Made to Please” the nastiest, heaviest band in beatdown deathcore right now – the criminal masterminds in Spite – broke some necks and shattered some bodies immediately following 156/Silence. Spite is a band that San Antonio has always loved. Having just recently released a brand new full-length album, “NEW WORLD KILLER”, Spite’s setlist was heavily layered in brand new tracks that they’ve been spitting into audiences for the very first time on Fit For a King’s tour. Gnarly music for really angry people, you have to check them out.
One of San Antonio’s all time favorite bands, Currents, was the second-to-last band to take the stage, playing an extensive set of new, old, and over all favorite tracks. The melodicmetalcore band had a merch-table line that sprawled the entire length of the Rock Box room, consistently selling box after box of t-shirts, hoodies, and hats, putting on a crazy show for a room of people who absolutely adored them. Songs like “Living in Tragedy” and “The Death We Seek” absolutely shredded the vocal cords of the audience.
Finally, Fit For A King made a dramatic entrance and introduced their newest album, The Lonely God, to San Antonio’s eager ears. Crowd surfing, catchy melodies, riffs cooked in a top-secret metalcore lab, and twenty years of experience in touring and nailing performances all went into the energy that made the night so magical and electric. Fit For a King was powerful, always giving a great performance and yet always getting better. From the spin-kicking, dancing band members to the angelic clean vocals and the aggression of the moshing crowd, the room was full of love, sweat, tears, and pure adrenaline. Fit For a King is not to be missed.
Though their North American tour is over, keep your eyes peeled for new touring announcements from the band as we creep closer to the new years. Their new album, Lonely God
