Rock and Roll Church at the Tuscany Copa Room Returns for August!

The most recent Rock and Roll Church/Rock and Roll Brunch event happened inside the Copa Room at the Tuscany Hotel and Casino on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

On the last Sunday of every month, the Tuscany Hotel and Casino’s Copa Room hosts its monthly Rock and Roll Church gig. In a day and age in Sin City when both entertainment and a buffet are overpriced, this event comes as a breath of fresh air, offering headbangers seeing live music and a good meal the best of both worlds. The live show starts around 3:00 PM, with doors opening around 2:30 PM, giving the audience plenty of time to get situated with something to eat before the band hits the stage. For those who don’t want to buy the buffet (usually about $20 plus tax), there’s the option of attending for just a $5 cover. That’s great for anyone who wants a midday show and doesn’t want to be up all night rocking out.

The quartet performing for these gigs consists of some of Vegas’ finest musicians: Andrew Freeman (formerly of Last in Line) on vocals, Barry Barnes (Count’s 77, Stoney Curtis Band) on bass, Christian Brady (Hellyeah, Moby Dicks) on guitar, and Shon McKee (previously of Crashing Wayward) on drums. Anyone who has followed the Vegas scene for any length of time knows these guys are the real deal. They’re world-class musicians, but not above cracking jokes and having a good time (arguably too good of one) on a few occasions. I’ve never heard Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak” dissected and thought out in detail like this… or laughed so hard regarding the subject.

The variety of material being played is equally impressive. Andrew Freeman has one of the best voices in rock today, able to sing everything from classic 60s/70s rock numbers to more recent and modern tunes. Christian Brady’s guitar playing is top notch, whether he’s channeling Hendrix or EVH, or even occasionally taking on lead vocal duties. And the rhythm section of Barnes and McKee remains reliable as ever. Sometimes we even get guest performers, and this week’s gig included a few songs sung by local favorite David Reed Watson!

The variety of material is just as impressive, with this group even digging so far into the vault once in a while that I have no idea what I heard… but am left curious as a result of their performance! This show even featured “Screaming in the Night” by Krokus, which was certainly a welcomed addition to the lineup.

One of the best elements of the Rock and Roll Church gigs remains the early start times. Too many rock gigs in this town require people to stay out frustratingly late, but the doors here open at 2:30 PM, and it’s done by 5:00 PM. The staff running the place are some of the best in Las Vegas. Many thanks to the likes of Grayson, Mike, Mitch, Brian, and everyone else putting an effort in to keep live rock and roll going in Sin City. And for those who want to hang out after the gig, the band members are always delighted to take pics and visit with the fans.

For rock and rollers in Las Vegas, Rock and Roll Church (despite the name, there’s nothing religious whatsoever about it other than it taking place on Sunday) is a monthly highlight. The buffet is affordable and good. The live entertainment and the humor interspaced throughout it all speak for themselves. It’s a great time for all involved, and this latest gig was no exception. You owe it to yourself to get out to the next event if you’re a rock fan.
