Repentance Pays Tribute To Fallen Member Shaun Glass

Repentance is honoring the memory and legacy of its late guitarist Shaun Glass.

The band premiered a new single Friday, honoring Glass. The song, ‘Fade Into Silence,’ was accompanied by a companion video that features the band performing its new single on a soundstage in front of a video screen. The video screen features footage of Glass from his childhood to his adult life. It includes home videos of Glass as a child and pictures of him with some of the biggest names in the hard rock and metal community.

‘Fade Into Silence’ is featured on Repentance’s forthcoming album, Retaliate, which is scheduled for release Nov. 27. According to the band, the album had been expected for release earlier than that but Glass’ unexpected passing in July from a stroke. According to information released at the time, the stroke was caused by previously undiagnosed high blood pressure.

As to the release of this new single, Repentance front man Adam Gilley had the following to say: “We decided that ‘Fade Into Silence’ would be the next single from the record because we wanted to dedicate this release to Shaun Glass. Of all the songs on the record, ‘Fade Into Silence’ just felt like the perfect song to honor him – especially because it was a song that Shaun himself wrote”

Gilley continued, “His unexpected passing has left a major hole in our hearts and in this band. Shaun wasn’t just a bandmate or a friend; he was our brother. He was the one who created this band and helped give it its identity, and he was deeply loved by everyone of us. It’s difficult to put into words what his loss means to us, and things will never quite be the same without him.

Gilley concluded, “This song now carries a meaning we never expected it to have. Every note is a reminder of Shaun, his creativity, his passion, and everything he gave to this band. We’re proud to dedicate ‘Fade Into Silence’ to our brother and friend, Shaun Glass. His music, his influence, and his memory will always be a part of us. Rest easy, Shaun. This one is for you.“

A fundraiser has been set up for Shaun’s family by Troy Dixler. Contributors can donate to the fund here. As of Sept. 26, the fund had raised more than $55,000 dollars of a $180,000 goal.
