Details Announced For Rainbow Live Recording Re-Issue

Rainbow’s 1986 live recording, Finl Vinyl is getting renewed attention.

The band’s second ever live recording, it was released 40 years ago in Feb. 1986. Now in celebration of that anniversary it is currently planned for re-issue on a new 180-gram vinyl presentation Jan. 29. Separate CD editions are expected for release Dec. 18. The recording’s re-issue will come through Deko Entertainment.

The forthcoming re-issue will be limited to only 1,000 copies. It will feature the same track listing as the original vinyl presentation. New liner notes from rock journalist Martin Popoff will be featured in the new presentation, as well as Rainbow’s two surviving members, Joe Lynn Turner and Graham Bonnet.

Turner said of the re-issue, “This reissue has been remastered, which gives the album a cleaner quality of sound and presence than the technology used four decades ago, but it still captures the raw and real feel of live performance. If you happened to be at any of these shows, the memories and excitement will come flooding back to an age of Rock & Roll history that remains unmatched to this day.”

Bonnet added, “I had a fantastic time during my tenure with Rainbow. I learned so much from all of the guys in the band…..those were some of the best days of my life.”
