On October 24, 2019 yet another metalcore heavyweight returns to Las Vegas! THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (Ohio) is bringing ‘The Act Tour’ to Vinyl inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino; with supporting acts, NORMA JEAN (Georgia) and GIDEON (Alabama).

A little intro…

Have you guys seen The Devil Wears Prada? I have. About 6 or 7 times by now, I think. They are yet another one of those feel good bands for me; and it’s pretty exciting to see them bring Norma Jean back to Vegas with them this round! I believe it’s been about ten years since I’ve seen Norma Jean. I saw them on another bill with The Devil Wears Prada, actually. Gideon is an unfamiliar name for me, but as I’ve mentioned in previous coverage; I am never discouraged by something I’ve never heard before. (Sidenote: Upon checking out Gideon, their vocalist has a similar style to Jamey Jasta from Hatebreed. And I fucking love that!)

This tour is in direct support of The Devil Wears Prada’s latest album titled, “The Act.” It is being released on Solid State Records, and it is going to be a definite shift in their sound. There are obvious elements that reflect to their previous albums. This is their 7th album, and according to an interview with Alternative Press, Mike Hranica stated that they wanted to push boundaries, as this is something that isn’t happening much in rock music today. I admire bands who change things up, and this isn’t the first time they are changing things up. (They did go from more screamo to full on metalcore with With Roots Above and Branches Below.)

Never a disappointment!

We’ve caught The Devil Wears Prada a few times the last few years, the most recent on Parkway Drive’s Reverence tour last year alongside Polaris and August Burns Red. (You can check out the coverage of that show HERE.) For as many times as I’ve seen them, I can’t ever remember walking away disappointed. These guys ALWAYS bring it, and they’re sure to get the crowds moving at Vinyl!

It looks as if three tracks from the new album are currently up on Spotify, and special pre-order bundles/physical CDs/vinyl versions can be found HERE! The official release date is October 11, 2019 so if you’re into these guys definitely go support and pick that up!

SEE YOU IN THE PIT, VEGAS!
