AUGUST BURNS RED RETURNS TO VEGAS AND IS CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF THE RESCUE & RESTORE ALBUM!

“How many times have you seen August Burns Red?”

“Yes”

This is how my interaction goes when it comes to just how many times I’ve seen August Burns Red through the years. I have zero regrets about that either! On Wednesday, November 29 August Burns Red returns to Las Vegas for the second time this year.

Jake Luhrs - August Burns Red - 2023

This show at Brooklyn Bowl this time, is in celebration of their sixth full length album, RESCUE & RESTORE. With them they are bringing high demand in the hardcore scene, SPITE, refreshing newcomers on the deathcore circuit, BRAND OF SACRIFICE, and Japanese metalcore act CRYSTAL LAKE

While Rescue & Restore didn’t unleash anything super groundbreaking for metalcore, it did make a stand that August Burns Red are and will continue to be a staple, an all around heavyweight and obvious fan favorite band of the genre itself. I don’t think you can even bring up modern metalcore at all without including August Burns Red at this point. With their consistency in sound, growth, remarkable live performances, and with their faith, it is very clear that they have made a unique mark on the genre and are just one of those truly unforgettable acts.

At the time of its release, Rescue & Restore peaked in the top 20 on SIX different charts in the United States via Billboard. (If you know me you know this isn’t very important to me personally, but I do think it’s interesting and incredible to see a band like this hit mainstream charts such as Billboard.)

Expectations?

JB Brubaker - August Burns Red - 2019

Obviously with this ten year celebration of this album we can more than likely expect a full performance of the album, but these guys are always known to throw in those other fan favorites across their discography. I am thrilled and excited to see this performed in its entirety. “Spirit Breaker” gives me chills every time I hear it, and I don’t even carry the same faith that these guys do. This is just a testament to how powerful music is in general. To feel that moved by the composition of the music while relating to it in a different way than it was created.

As I mentioned above, I have seen August Burns Red many, many times over the years. They have been a staple in my own musical journey as a fan from around 2006 until now. I have never walked away disappointed, just completely elated and I don’t expect this time to be any different. I will keep showing up for this band as many times and as often as I can.
