Alter Bridge played The Salt Shed in Chicago for the very first time on Wednesday,May 6th, 2026, along with 90’s favorites Filter and country-rocker Tim Montana tobring the house down.
After hitting Europe over the summer, they’re heading back out on their U.S. Fall Tour, starting November 5th in Philadelphia, PA and wrapping up December 5th in Reno, NV. They’re bringing Tim Montana back out with them, along with Big Wreck, who also played some dates with them on the first leg of the 2026 tour.
According to a recent Facebook post on the Alter Bridge page, it may be the last chance to see them live for awhile due to other commitments on the horizon. With Mark, Brian & Flip keeping busy with their Creed reunion plans for 2027 & Myles working with Slash & the Conspirators, I highly recommend you jump on the chance to catch them while you can!
I had always heard Alter Bridge was a great live band, and the rumors are so very true. They were amazing! Shame on me, as I have no excuses as to why this was the first time I’ve ever seen them live, but it certainly will not be the last.

Tim Montana & his band came out and immediately won the crowd over. Working-class boys playing in a working-class town? Of course we’re going to love them! My favorite song in their set was “Devil You May Know”. To me it’s a testament to not giving up & flipping a big middle finger to whatever or whoever may hold you back, including yourself, from going after and doing what you want in life.
Filter was up next, swallowed by the smoky stage as it set the alternative mood. The one song that always grabbed me was “Take a Picture”, and it absolutely made me smile when they played it. They also could not have left the stage without playing “Hey Man, Nice Shot”, so they saved the best for last.

Alter Bridge started their night with “Silent Divide”, blazed into “Addicted to Pain” and rocked on into the night with “White Knuckles”, “City of Achilles”, “What Lies Within” and “Fortress”. Mark took over vocals on “Burn It Down”, and then the crowd started their first of three amazing sing-a-longs during “Open Your Eyes”. Songs two and three were “Watch Over You” and “Blackbird”, which was song one of their encores. The Salt Shed did not disappoint; it was amazingly beautiful.
Between the crowd participation, they rounded out the set with “Broken Wings”, “Ghost of Days Gone By”, “Tested & Able”, “Rise Today”, “Metalingus”, and finally, “Isolation” to close out the night. With such a large catalog to choose from, it’ll be interesting to see if they swap out any songs as they head back out in November. Whether they do or not, the set is solid and Alter Bridge will serve up a kickass rock show, guaranteed.
