Touring his fourth studio album, “Sweet Fortune,” Ryan Beatty is no newbie and his performance at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas, TX proved as much. This was one of my most anticipated shows of the year and by the end of the night became my number one. From the stage set up and gorgeous lighting, to the vocals, and to the incredible audience… this is a tour not to be missed.

Ryan Beatty started his music career with his debut EP “Because of You” in 2012 and took time off before his comeback in 2017 when he collaborated with Brockhampton on two albums. He also had a hand in cowriting with Beyonce on her 2024 album “Cowboy Carter.” Ryan has steadily released his own original work since his 2018 debut album “Boy In Jeans.” Opening the tour for Ryan Beatty is girlsweetvoiced who just released her debut album “Lovesweet” this summer. Her name very much speaks
for itself. Her vocals were exquisite and she had a sweet stage presence that had everyone in the room enamoured. “A Minute, A Mile” is on its way to making a top spot in my Spotify wrapped this year. Please check out her catalog, you will not be disappointed.

Heavy fog engulfed the stage as the audience resettled into their seats. The band came out first followed by Ryan and everyone cheered.Kicking off the set is my favorite from the new album “Secret Language.” I was immediately entranced by Beatty’s gorgeous voice and the warm hues of the lighting. Ryan folded up his setlist into a paper airplane and sent it flying into the second row where a lucky fan caught it.

From start to finish, the crowd was delivered back-to-back perfect vocals and storytelling stage presence. Ryan sailed smoothly through his set singing the entirety of “Sweet Fortune” with a handful of tunes from his third studio album, “Calico.” It is always a delight when a live performance does justice for studio recordings. Even his band were super tight, and the sound was mixed live so beautifully.

After closing out his main set with “Phantom,” Ryan left the stage before returning for a glorious three-song encore of “Dust,” “Bruises Off the Peach” (my personal favorite), and a stunning rendition of “Fleur de Lis” that granted an overwhelming ovation. There are a few more dates left on the North American leg of the Arms Over Armor tour but be sure to check out Ryan Beatty’s latest works and be on the lookout for the next time he is in your city.
