Pyromania, the Def Leppard tribute band, played the Copa Room at the Tuscany Hotel and Casino on Friday, October 23, 2026.

The music of Def Leppard needs no introduction. From harder rock to the more pop end of the spectrum, the quintet from Sheffield has been making a name for themselves for nearly half a century. The band formerly known as Atomic Mass has endured many tragedies and changes to their sound… but remains an arena headliner and one of the few bands not derailed by the grunge boom of the 1990s. It’s hardly surprising that many Def Leppard tribute bands exist.

Pyromania is a Def Leppard tribute band that’s been around for many years. Prior to the closure of Count’s Vamp’d, I caught these guys out there many a time. The band is fronted by Andrew Freeman, who I’ve seen with many bands and shows around town over the years. Perhaps most notably, for the past several years he played with the band Last in Line, where he actually played alongside Def Leppard member Vivian Campbell. Mr. Freeman has become a go-to guy in the music business, with many acts enlisting his services as a frontman, both on a temporary and a permanent basis.

The Tuscany’s Copa Room remains one of the top spots in Sin City for all things rock and roll following the closure of Vamp’d. I’ve been a regular here for the past year, and it’s a venue that combines an intimate setting, awesome staff, and a community of fellow rockers unrivaled elsewhere in the Vegas Valley. My thanks as always to the crew, including Mitch, Grayson, Mike, and Brian (himself the former Vamp’d soundman) who continue to give audiences what they want. Aside from the late start times (this is largely due to the fact that the venue is shared with a long-running Rat Pack tribute show). But I’ve never failed to have a good time here.

It’s no secret I love Def Leppard. My battle jacket with the back patch combining elements of the classic albums ON THROUGH THE NIGHT and PYROMANIA, which Mr. Freeman seemed quite impressed by, shows my love for this long-running British band. And over the years, I’ve seen that the classics from the Sheffield lads are in good hands with Andrew behind the microphone. He’s recruited a killer crew of musicians who know the tunes and respect them equally well. Just seeing the chemistry and enthusiasm of the band on stage says it all. The fact that a crowd of fans swarmed the dance floor, ranging from older fans who grew up with the band, to a young boy who couldn’t have been more than five years old, said it all. No one in this crowd was bored.

Def Leppard has a pretty wide and diverse discography, ranging from early bootleg recordings and their 1979 debut EP right up to their latest studio effort, DIAMOND STAR HALOS. The band, of course, is best known for the trilogy of albums they recorded from 1981-1987 which were produced by the iconic Robert John “Mutt” Lange: 1981’s sophomore effort HIGH N DRY, 1983’s landmark PYROMANIA, and 1987’s multi-platinum wall-of-sound masterpiece HYSTERIA, which remains the band’s best-selling effort. Did I mention the latter album had a whopping SEVEN singles released from it?

Unsurprisingly, Pyromania’s setlist was almost exclusively consistent of tracks from the “Mutt Trilogy,” meaning we got tunes like “High N Dry (Saturday Night,” “Let It Go,” “Photograph,” “Rock of Ages,” “Foolin,” “Hysteria,” “Animal,” and “Love Bites.” Although the band usually does sneak in “Let’s Get Rocked” from 1992’s ADRENALIZE, the band’s fifth album and first following the death of guitarist Steve Clark.

That’s my only minor complaint with this show; I’d love to hear a few more songs outside of the “Mutt Trilogy.” How about “Rock Brigade” or “Hello America” from the band’s Tom Allom-produced 1980 debut, ON THROUGH THE NIGHT? Or “Ride Into the Sun,” a tune from the band’s debut EP which was later re-recorded as a HYSTERIA-era B-side? Even 1999’s EUPHORIA deserves some attention with cuts like “Promises” and “Paper Sun,” and if you want to really deep, its Japan-only bonus track, “I Am Your Child.” I could rant and rave here forever and ever (I love Def Leppard THAT much…) and I have no doubt Mr. Freeman and company could do justice to any of these tunes. Or for that matter… anything in the Def Leppard catalogue.

I never miss a Pyromania concert. When Andrew Freeman is behind the mic, I know the music of Def Leppard is in good hands. His band of musicians here are the best of their kind, breathing life into tunes from the band’s classic heyday. If you’re a fan of the lads from Sheffield, don’t pass up a catch to miss one of the best Def Leppard tributes out there doing their thing.
