On March 24, 2020 Silverstein returns to one of Las Vegas’ most favored venues: Brooklyn Bowl inside the Linq Promenade. On this run, they are celebrating TWENTY YEARS of being a band. I don’t know about what you think, but that’s impressive for any band-let alone a post hardcore/emo outfit! (I really am excited to see the guys come back through Vegas, they’re one of my favorites.)

Silverstein was here a couple of times in 2019; a headline/dual set in January for their 15 year anniversary of ‘When Broken is Easily Fixed’; and again for August Burns Red’s 10 years of ‘Constellations’ tour.

Memory Lane!

Let’s take a look back at twenty years of Silverstein, via their most popular hit songs and music videos!

2003’s “Giving Up” is one of the very first Silverstein music videos in circulation. It is from their “When Broken is Easily Fixed” album. Videos supporting this album created the foundation in which the guys heavily built off of in the years that followed.

2005 we saw the release of “Discovering the Waterfront”, which gave us classic Silverstein hits such as the title track; ‘Discovering the Waterfront’, ‘Smile In Your Sleep’, and the ever popular, ‘My Heroine.’ This song and video was an anthem for the broken hearted. And we still salute you for this one, Silverstein!

2007 gave us “Arrivals & Departures”; which showcased the songs ‘If You Could See Into My Soul’; and yet another post hardcore/emo classic, ‘Still Dreaming’.

2009 gives us “Shipwrecked in the Sand”. Showcased for this album were the songs ‘Vices’ and ‘American Dream’. As you can probably see up to this point, this band is a never ending progression from their roots. They just keep building off of that orginal sound! (The fans love it, by the way. There’s a reason they’re still filling venues!)

2011 showcases a more aggresive visual for the ‘Burning Hearts’ music video. This song, as well as the track, ‘The Artist’ were the main picks to showcase the album, “Rescue”.

Rescue & Short Songs

In 2012, somewhere between the release of “Rescue” and the release of “This is How the Wind Shifts”; there was a release titled “Short Songs”, in which the ‘SOS’ music video was released. This video showcased all the wonderful places around the world that Silverstein had taken their music to that year. This video was made up of a large amount of tour footage and live videography of their shows, and it’s a great watch!

2013 we saw the first release for “This is How the Wind Shifts”, a single titled ‘Massachusetts’. Yet another consistent piece of music from Silverstein. These guys really know how to keep their fanbases glued to their context and messages. This is yet another fine example of that!

Leading up to more recent years!

“I Am Alive and Everything I Touch” was released in 2015, and with this I heard a slight shift in the vocals and production value. (Not a bad thing!) Music videos from this album include; ‘A Midwestern State of Emergency’, ‘Face of the Earth’, ‘The Continual Condition’, and ‘Toronto (Unabridged)’.

“Dead Reflection”, released in 2016 brings us up to current times with all that is Silverstein. ‘Ghost’ is among three music video releases we’ve seen from this album, and it absolutely showcases (yet again) their constant and consistent progression musically. There seems to be less screaming in this, but it is not absent by any means. Shane Told has a great ability to transition beautifully from singing and screaming; it’s honestly one of the reasons I keep going back to see them when they come to town!

The guys have been touring pretty regularly the last year or so to celebrate album anniversaries, so there aren’t any new album releases as of lately. 2018 they did release another single from “Dead Reflection” titled ‘Whiplash’.

There you have it!

Well, there you have a simple breakdown of some of Silversteins biggest songs and videos. Are you looking forward to celebration 20 years of this post hardcore/emo landmark of a band? Let us know what songs you hope to hear from them on this 20 year celebration. There’s no doubt in my mind that they will be playing ALL of the fan favorites and then some!
