Mike Dillon & Punkadelick
A very interesting blend of punk rock and jazz took the stage with the Mike Dillon & Punkadelick trio. I haven’t seen anything so interesting in a while and the crowd seemed to be pleased by their brand of punky jazz.
Giovannie & The Hired Guns
A shift in energy came with Giovanni and The Hired Guns. I didn’t realize just how popular these guys are until tonight! They brought a very fun and high energy vibe with what sounded like a mix of cover songs blended with originals. A very diverse and interesting set from some very talented musicians!
Clutch
And for the final band of the evening, CLUTCH. A highly interactive set with frontman Neil Fallon pointing into the crowd and smiling at them.
Clutch released their 13th studio album, “Sunrise on Slaughter Beach” almost a year ago, but seems to be relentlessly touring for this cycle. What I really loved about seeing these guys play, is that they seem to play a different set each night. Setlists for each tour date can be seen on their social sites and it gives the audience a sense of surprise. There’s a removal of predictability there and any band who can comfortably pull that off, I applaud.
These guys are a definite must see, and if you miss it, well.. you miss it! They don’t ever seem to play the same show twice!
