Felt Like High School All Over Again—Just Sweating Through It with Yellowcard and New Found Glory

May 31, 2026 at the Observatory in Santa Ana was one of those nights you’ll be talking about for a while. The day had been blazing hot, making everyone feel like they might melt before the music even started. The afternoon sun was relentless, and fans were sweating like crazy, waving their hands in the air just to stay cool. But nobody was going to miss out on what promised to be a pretty epic show.

The night kicked off with the Plain White T’s, who managed to get the crowd moving despite the heat. They played some of their hits, and even though everyone was dripping with sweat, they still managed to get everyone bouncing and singing along. Fans looked like they’d just stepped out of a sauna—shirts sticking to their backs, fans fanning themselves with whatever they had—concert tickets, programs, whatever was handy.

Then came Yellowcard and New Found Glory, sharing the stage as co-headliners. Both bands brought their A-game, but it was clear that New Found Glory had everyone’s attention. Their set was full of energy, and they had fans singing along, jumping around, and pretending they weren’t melting under the sun. Some fans looked like they had just stepped out of their teenage bedrooms—skinny jeans, band T-shirts from a decade ago, and that “bring back the youth” look. It was like a flashback to high school days, only now you’re regretting those jeans because they’re probably tighter than ever in the heat.

Meanwhile, some parents brought their kids, who looked like they’d just stepped out of an emo revival. Kids with their hair perfectly side-swept, oversized hoodies, and looks that said, “I’m too cool for this,” even though they were clearly melting just like everyone else. Watching parents pass down their teenage angst and questionable fashion choices was almost as entertaining as the bands. It was almost like a family tradition—love the music, embrace the nostalgia, and maybe wear those skinny jeans one more time.

Yellowcard closed out the night with their signature violin punk, proving they still knew how to put on a show in 2026. Fans cheered and sang along, some still wiping sweat from their foreheads. By the end of the night, everyone was exhausted but happy. They had survived the hottest afternoon ever just to see their favorite bands perform.

Even with the heat, the night was a huge success. It reminded everyone why live music is so special—bringing people together, making memories, and even convincing some to wear their high school looks all over again. Fans left with big smiles, tired legs, and stories about how they made it through the hottest afternoon in concert history. After all, there’s nothing quite like a good show, some laughs, and the chance to feel a little young again—even if it’s just for a night.
