Casket Raider
The Divebar
July 15, 2018

I’ve only seen Casket Raider one other time. They played an awesome little set at Zia Records on Record Store Day, and I have been patiently waiting for an opportunity to catch them again. (You can find Ethan’s review of that set HERE) Thankfully that was made possibly with the Sadistic Indulgence Fest on Sunday, July 15th at The Dive Bar. This would be night two of metal at Dive for me.

Opening this show were Draugr, Achromatica, and Omniversa, which are all awesome performers in their own rights. Draugr with their dramatic corpse paint get ups, Achromatica with their intense stage set up, and Omniversa, with a KILLER female drummer. These are some of the hidden gems on the heavier side of the metal scene here in Vegas. If you’re looking for something a little less traditional, mainstream, or typical… These bands are sure to fulfill that need.

Casket Raider

I was specifically at this show for Casket Raider. Those guys have been longtime friends of ours here at ZrockR, and what can I say? I just all around dig the metal. Frontman, Jordan has a special kind of intensity that you just don’t see every day. He is an artist in every sense of the word. From screaming his lungs out and then ending up in an almost lifeless form laying on the stage. The dude is special. Add in those heavy hitting drums, and the intensity from the roaring guitar and bass, you’ve got a killer line up.

The only thing that threw me off was the fog machines. It went off unexpectedly, and my camera had a bit of a hard time focusing. Totally not a deal breaker for me, though… I’m definitely going to make my way out to more shows of them as they come. You’d do good to do the same!
