In just a couple weeks Ice Nine Kills will be bringing The Accelerator Tour to Brooklyn Bowl, Las Vegas. Opening up the show this run are Fit for a King, Light the Torch, Make them Suffer, and Awake at Last. This is quite a hefty bill!
Who are Ice Nine Kills?
Ice Nine Kills are a post hardcore act from Boston. Their Facebook genre has them listed as Theatricore, which I’d say is pretty appropriate based on their visual image. The guys got their start back in 2002, although I don’t think I had personally heard them until around 2008 or 2009. Vocalist and founder, Spencer Charnas has an incredible range as far as overall singing goes. The dude will have an almost Jonny Craig-like vibe; and then right after heading into a more modern metalcore vocal style, (ex, We Came as Romans). It’s quite impressive if I do say so myself.
It’s honestly no wonder that Ice Nine Kills topple over a million monthly listeners on Spotify. And honestly, if you’re into metalcore or post hardcore in general, I think these guys definitely have the capability of delivering something that is pleasing to your ear. (Speaking of Spotify, related artists include Miss May I, Motionless in White, and Of Mice & Men, all bands which we have covered in the past!)
The Silver Scream (FINAL CUT)
On this run, Ice Nine Kills are directly supporting the release of their latest album titled, The Silver Scream (FINAL CUT). Upon listening to this, I’m very intrigued to see how they bring some of this to life on a live show level. I’m a sucker for theatrics and dramatics and the overall sound here is full of these things! Check out the album for yourself below!
