Sleeping With Sirens: ‘The Medicine Tour’ hitting HOB!

If we were to talk about the modern post-hardcore/post-punk/pop punk (insert other genre niches here) scene, it’s hard to not mention bands in the likes of Sleeping with Sirens. The guys return to Las Vegas’ House of Blues stage on January 17, 2020 for their “The Medicine Tour”! These guys just played Las Rageous so it’s pretty cool that they’re making their way back already! This tour, Sleeping with Sirens will have direct support from Point North, Belmont, and Set it Off. (Disclaimer: I’ve covered all of these bands before, and they are all a lor of fun!)

How it Feels to be Lost

I can only assume that “The Medicine Tour” has been put in place to directly support the band’s latest album, “How it Feels to be Lost”, which was released on June 19, 2019. It’s their first release on Sumerian Records. Upon listening to this album, I have to say I am very pleased with the progression they have made. They certainly have come a long way from “If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn”; (from their 2010 album, ‘With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear’) and  “If You Can’t Hang” (from their breakout album, ‘Let’s Cheers to This’). Sleeping with Sirens’ 2013 album, ‘Feel’ hit number 3 on the US Billboard Top 200, while 2015’s ‘Madness’ album peaked at number 13 on the same list; 2017’s ‘Gossip’ dipped all the way down to number 38.

Fuck the numbers!

Honestly, fuck those numbers though. These guys have a massive fanbase and with 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify; the chances of these guys letting mainstream pop culture lists dictate their path are slim.

ANYWAY….

The last time I caught Sleeping with Sirens was when they opened up for Good Charlotte at The Pearl. They were always one of those bands that lyrically I could relate to on a number of levels, and for whatever reason I never saw them live prior to the show at The Pearl. The new album is very well put together, in my opinion. I’m excited to see this stuff played live, as well as those fan favorites mentioned above. (Personally, one of my all time favorite songs by Sleeping with Sirens is ‘The Bomb Dot Com V2.0’ so it’d be cool to hear that song. Wink.

See you in the pit, Vegas!
