All the variety!

October 18th and 19th are the set days for this year’s annual Las Rageous music festival. This is the third year this festival is taking place at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center. This time though, it is (obviously) being put on in the fall as opposed to past years being in the spring/cusp of summer. I don’t know about you guys, but I much prefer the fall weather to the spring and early summer so this works out well for me and others with this preference.

The criticism for this year’s line up did not go unnoticed here at ZrockR. To be frank about those criticisms, I don’t give a shit about them. This two day line up is one of the most varied I’ve seen in a while. To the point where you’re going to see a lot of different fans and dynamics on the festival grounds. I never see this as a bad thing.

Las Rageous Day One:

Day one gives us Bring Me the Horizon as the headliner. I can only assume that this is a little bit of a makeup show for us, since the show they were originally supposed to play here was cancelled due to Ollie’s vocal chord issues. Nonetheless, I haven’t seen these guys since 2008 or so when they opened up for Thursday and I’ve heard pretty good things about their live performances these days. I can appreciate that even if they aren’t really my thing anymore!

More first day goodies include the absolutely amazing, The Used, Dance Gavin Dance, Fever 333, He is Legend, and Poppy. The Used, Dance Gavin Dance, and Sleeping With Sirens are all bands we have covered here in the past, and I personally never get sick of them. Definitely post-hardcore favorites of mine! I haven’t seen He is Legend in MANY years, but I’m eager to see their growth as a band. Poppy and Fever 333 are both completely new to me, and ya know, I’m okay with that. There’s nothing wrong with finding some new rad tunes on these festivals!

Las Rageous Day Two:

For day two we’ve got Rob Zombie and Chevelle as the main headliners. I have not seen either of them live, so I’m eager to see what’s up with the stage show. I don’t recall ever hearing anything on the negative spectrum about them. (Then again, I’m not really looking for negatives, so there’s that.)

Prior to these massive names, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, The Hu, I Prevail, Beartooth, Whitechapel, and Atreyu will be hitting this stage! Beartooth, Whitechapel, and Atreyu have been long time favorites of mine, and I’m eager to see them hit the stage again. As for Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, The Hu, and I Prevail, they haven’t much been on my radar, but as I mentioned before; I’m okay with that.

What do you think about this years line up? Will we see you out on the festival grounds for year THREE of LAS RAGEOUS!?
